Who

How is Cornerstone different
from other providers?
Cornerstone’s number one priority is ALWAYS the

their payment acceptance system is working quickly,
accurately and efficiently. We are committed to helping
our clients identify ways to streamline and improve
their system, and offer better service. No other sales
organization delivers the same commitment to service,
wide array of products, and overall value that Cornerstone

What products
and services does Cornerstone offer?
CCS gives you complete choices--a comprehensive credit
and debit program, Internet processing, Merchant Cash Advance, electronic check
conversion, and check verification all with aggressive
risk management, 24 hour customer service support, and
a highly trained technical support team. These are all
geared specifically to meet virtually any processing
need.
Are Cornerstone’s
services safe and secure?
CCS and its processing partners take our customers privacy seriously.
All transactions are conducted securely and confidentially, utilizing
the latest technology to ensure that merchant account information
is protected.
I want to establish
a merchant account. How do I start?
Getting set up is easy. Contact our sales associates at (907)770-8100,
toll free at 1-(877)375-8100 or email us through our website link,
www.ccspaymentsolutions.com. We’ll listen to your needs,
and recommend the system that will best fit your situation. From
there we’ll help you complete an application, assist in
getting it processed, and help you with set-up and training.
What will a merchant
account cost me?
Your business is unique, and the payment options, equipment, training
and service you need are unique as well. Merchant accounts vary
according to the customized needs of each business. For example,
do you take payments over the phone? Or do you accept many corporate
cards? Do you end up swiping a card through a terminal most of
the time, or key entering a number? These and other factors will
affect the cost of accepting electronic payments. Once we know
what you are looking for, we’ll be able to provide you with
an accurate and cost effective solution.
How long does
it take to set up an account?
Again, it depends on many different factors, the main ones being
what type of account you need, and if your merchant application is complete. Once the application is processed and
approved, it just takes a phone call to arrange a convenient time
for us to come, set up, and provide complete training.
Will my merchant
account have a processing limit?
Accounts get approved with either an actual or projected dollar
volume. The way it is figured is based upon either your previous
credit card transaction history, or what you anticipate doing
based on current check and cash volume, or what similar stores
see in volume. Once accounts are approved and set up, they are
monitored to see if they follow the projected estimates. Any merchant
whose transaction activity trends greatly above or below the anticipated
norm would be contacted by our risk management department to ensure
that the information provided on the application was correct.
How long will
it take me to complete the application?
The merchant application is designed to be streamlined and simple.
The best thing to do is to
gather up the information you’ll need before you begin the
process, and from that point it should take you only 5 –
10 minutes to complete.
Is the information
I provide in the application kept confidential and private?
Yes, your application information is secured.
Who reviews
my application?
Our merchant underwriting group reviews all of the application
information.
What if a customer
disputes a transaction?
The MasterCard® and Visa® Card Associations govern the rules and
regulations regarding disputed transactions. The best way to guard
against liability is to wherever possible swipe transactions through
a terminal, secure the cardholder’s signature, and receive
an authorization. When the card is not present at the time of
the transaction, the merchant assumes liability for any disputed
charges. The risk management department is designed to help minimize
your risk of chargeback.
How do I receive
my payment for transactions?
Your account will be electronically credited for your MasterCard®,
Visa®, Diner's Card® and JCB® transactions to your business bank account.
If you take American Express® and/or Discover®, these issuers will
be responsible for crediting your account directly.
How do I get
account information?
Statements are generated and sent out on a monthly basis to the
address you designate, and specific account information is always
available through the 24-hour customer service and support desk.
I’m a
new merchant. What kind of equipment do I need?
As a new merchant, we can help you look at the many factors that
will help you make that decision. Some of these include the type
of merchant account you want (retail, petroleum, Internet), the
type of business you are in, the volume and type of transactions
you will be processing, how many locations you have, etc. With
that information, we can help you choose the system that best
fits your processing needs.
I already own
a credit card terminal. Are you able to simply reprogram my existing
one?
In most cases it is possible to reprogram existing equipment.
To verify the compatibility of your equipment, please contact
our sales office at (907)770-8100, or toll free at 1-(877)375-8100.
What types
of credit cards can I accept?
We support virtually all standard card types, including Visa®,
MasterCard®, Discover®, American Express®, Diner’s Club®, Fleet
cards, Wright Express®, Voyager®, and JCB® cards.
What are debit
cards? What is the difference between on-line and off-line debit?
There are basically two different ways debit cards are
processed. With online debit cards you process the cardholder’s
debit or check card at the point-of-sale, and they complete
the transaction by keying in their pin number. The funds are confirmed and the customer’s
account is immediately debited for the transaction.
Offline debit transactions are those you process from
customers using their MasterCard®
and Visa® branded debit
cards (many times referred to as check cards). These
are processed like traditional credit cards. The funds,
however, are verified at the time of purchase, so you
are guaranteed payment. Adding debit cards to your electronic
payment choices offers many other benefits.
What are interchange
fees? What are discount fees? What are per transaction fees?
Interchange fees are transaction-related costs established by
MasterCard® and Visa® that the processor pays to the issuer of the
card as compensation. Discount fees refer to the percentage rate the merchant
is charged to accept electronic forms of payment, and is dictated
by the type of card the customer offers, and how the credit card
information is entered. The last question refers to the rate the
merchant is charged every time a electronic transaction takes
place, and it is a flat rate versus a percentage. Both of these
fees are established by the processor and/or sales organization
based on the merchant’s industry, transaction history, and
sales volume, to name a few key points of reference, and take
into account the interchange fees set by MasterCard® and Visa®.
How do I qualify for a Cash Advance?
You can start the application process by filling out the on-line form, or calling Cornerstone toll free at 1-(877) 375-8100. The no-fee, no-obligation application process is simple. Once you have completed the short application, we will ask you to fax your last four credit card statements.
What kind of
training do you provide?
We provide training for every type of solution
from simple check verification to e-Checks and credit cards. Not
only do we train you during the initial set-up of your new system,
but we offer follow-up and ongoing training to ensure your business
and your employees always have the knowledge and training needed
to service your customers.

What is electronic
check conversion (e-Checks/ECC)?
Electronic check conversion (e-Checks, or ECC) is the process
where your check is used as a source of information—for
your check number, account number, and bank routing number—and
converted to a one-time electronic payment from your account,
or electronic funds transfer. The check itself is not the method
of payment, and that information can then be handed back to you.
